The argument repeated is “I don’t wanna pay for some dumb drug addicts healthcare, I’m not responsible for them” or anyone else they consider a bum

Also, when it’s not run by private, for profit corporations, you generally end up paying LESS, esp if you’re middle of working class

You know you can figure out the answer to this question right? There’s been a ton of polling on this. I don’t know what the top reason is, but I’m guessing it’s either to do with losing your doctor or worries about the quality and speed of the healthcare

the irony is of course that if those people have health insurance… they still are paying for them since that’s literally what insurance is.

Girl it already takes months to get healthcare because nobody can afford it and people already regularly lose doctors when they end up out of network after the patients switch insurance or the doctors change what they accept. In practice universal healthcare isn’t de facto going to slow down services significantly if done properly and it’ll actually PREVENT people from losing their doctors.
