Mainly first mover advantage. Google and Microsoft were years late to the party. The problem is that everyone deploys to Amazon’s oldest region in Virginia, and some of Amazon’s own stuff is heavily tied to that region. When this region went down people couldn’t contact Amazon about issues 💀
