Moderate dems aren’t electable. just ask Florida, whove lost almost 1.3 million registered dems since 2020. A lil over half a decade of running moderates who run against any and all progressive policies, and they went from THE purple state to solid red

How do you know they just didn’t leave?

Florida is like, literally known as a place where old people go to retire—ofc they vote red. People who were registered as blue don’t vote there or move away. In most peoples living memory Florida wasn’t a swing state, it is solidly red.

who’s living memory would that be? every governor’s race from 2010 up until 2022 was decided by less than 2% of the vote, and every presidential race (with the exception of ‘96) from 1992 up until 2024 was decided by 5% or less. how can those be the results from anything but a swing state? Not to mention, the state had a democrat senator as recently as 2019!

if they’ve had a supermajority for most of the time. It’s also literally in the south and surrounded by red. I dunno, but if they keep going red and have been red I’d say they’re not a swing state. And if it’s hard for dems to win, which obviously it is, then yeah, red state

because the same year that Kamala Harris lost the state 56%-43%, Floridians voted 57%-43% to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution. Abortion isn’t more popular than trump in a solid red state where all the dem leaning voters just up and left. The majority of voters are still out there but are disillusioned with the status quo that has been pushed by the state party for years now. If you give people nothing to vote for, they’re not gonna vote

They didn’t have a super majority most of the time?? The 2/3rds republican supermajority only came about in 2022! It used to be hard for either party to win the state. at most the state was tilt-red-purple for state-wide races up until the 2022 midterms. Margins like the ones Desantis put up in that race hadn’t been seen since 1982 when democrat governor graham won by like 30 points.

Also no idea what ur getting at by saying it’s surrounded by red states, especially being that its largest land border is shared with a state that currently has two democratic senators lmao. That literally doesn’t matter?? Colorado shares a border with 4 deep red states and its still reliably blue.
