I’ll keep saying this until I’m blue in face. The difference between left and right wing violence is right wing violence is promoted from the top down left wing violence isn’t. Democratic politicians will on mass denounce any violence Trump will pardon.

So you’re saying the right is violent because of trump but the left is just violent?

Nope, I’m saying that there are things in society that make people less or more likely to be violent. The right is different bc its leaders openly promote violence.

You guys all know this, this why you have to desperately search for twitter people to performatively upset about.

It’s quite easy to do when people on the right think the left hates them and the country

Then be mad at the algorithms and political leaders that push that narrative, and people who post stupid shit like op.

I get a lot of it is just internet echo chambers but some people advocate for ridiculous ideas that don’t do any favors

And just to be clear I’m fine with op calling this out, but acting like this is a huge democrat issue is dishonest. Not calling out our president who is the biggest contributor to things like this is also stupid.

Stuff like cashless bail, the bill in Colorado where democrats voted against making indecent exposure to minors a felony, lack luster border policy, it gives a lot of talking points to the right that are hard to ignore, I’m probably missing the times the right side is doing it but those are some examples that annoy me

Yeah I agree, I used to be optimistic about trumps administration but hes turned super authoritarian which is the opposite of what I want

Which I agree that there’s reasonable policy convos to have, butThere’s policy disagreements then there’s the president attempting to overturn an election then the president bailing everyone who violently supported him so there’s zero consequence for people doing political violence for him. That’s not a policy disagreement that’s just an insane crime that went unpunished.

As for cashless bail I haven’t see evidence that it’s that bad crime has been decreasing since 2022 across the country. We can even pick out some cases were cashless bail seems to have helped crime. Biden had an immigration bill that was trashed by Trump. Regardless border encounters had been trending down before Trump took office.

I agree with the violence thing, I don’t like how trump plays fast and lose with his power and i prefer weaker centeral government My gripe with cashless bail is that repeat offenders can abuse it, you see news stories of people who commit a string of crimes but are repeatedly released And the border issue may be trending down but I’d rather no one get through at all without us knowing about it and either applying for citizenship or leaving when their visit is up

That’s just not how our immigration system works. You can’t turn down all asylum seekers they have to go through a legal process. This was especially true post covid when you couldn’t turn people away with title 42. From my understand and I don’t have super strong opinion about cashless bail just bc I haven’t look into it that much. You can a have a judge chose to set a cash bail in some circumstance, like if they’re a repeat offender or if they’re a flight risk. That’s how cashless bail works-
