there’s a fundamental difference between chosen political ideology, and one’s immutable identity. don’t get me wrong, I can absolutely understand where you’re coming from; it’s just very ironic given the overall discussion that ensued yk? there’s a vital conversation to be had about the manipulation that the average Republican is inundated with, and how the factor of fear plays a large role in both building and maintaining loyalty within the base.

The point I was making in the message you’re referencing is that it is wrong for me to make a generalization about all transgender people just as it would be wrong for me to make a generalization about all republicans, democracy’s, or any group. In no way was I demeaning them or anyone for the sake of argument. I explicitly state it would be wrong of me to do so.

the difference is that it’s not a generalization to say republicans are okay with pedophilia their party leader who they vote for is literally a pedophile. it’s a factual statement about what they have done.

why are you saying this like generalizations aren’t still considered factual… it’s a generalization to say that all adults self-identify as men or women. it’s a generalization to say all wetlands are wet. republicans nominated and voted for someone with a history of predatory comments, actions, and behavior toward minors… that is a fair generalization based in facts. is there nuance to all the statements? yes, and we can expand on those generalizations once we’re smarter and can handle that info
