If you’re one of those people who are like “I’m a liberal/democrat but you should have some empathy for Charlie Kirk!🥺” I need you to understand if you were shot on the street Charlie Kirk would drop his pants and piss on your body.

Unless you’re white* then he’d probably politicize you

What has he said or done to make you think that

And that’s the difference between us. I still have empathy anyway because I’m a better person than he was

Not a flex to withhold empathy for whatever suits your narrative. If you believe in having empathy for victims of gun violence, you should have empathy for Charlie Kirk. Gotta be consistent in your own beliefs

Victims of gun violence would have empathy for me if I was a victim of gun violence. Charlie Kirk would not.

We can be consistent and also take into account context.

Again, figure out where your own morals lie. You being vindictive in who you withhold empathy from is an indicator that your empathy isn’t genuine to begin with. You either do or do not believe victims deserve empathy. “Well! But! He wouldn’t!!” Ok so congrats you’re putting your empathy on par with his because your values aren’t steadfast they’re easily shaken and you justify it. Not my problem if that’s your style. I just don’t think it’s a flex.

Cool. I don’t think it’s a flex to feel bad for someone who would literally laugh at your dead body. I believe in karma and penance and Kirk had about 50 lifetimes worth of it.

I mean be serious. This is the man you’re going to bat for right now.

I think it’s definitely a flex to say with 100% certainty that my values are far superior to his and that I can commit to giving empathy to all victims of gun violence not just the ones I like

I mean honestly that says alot about your self worth. That basically means you don’t think you should be grieved or respected if you die. I think you do. We clearly don’t agree on this topic but if you got shot and killed I would feel empathy for you.

I will be grieved and respected when I die. Doesn’t matter if that’s today 10 yrs from now or 50. I know I will because I’m a good person that has made an impact on peoples lives. Not by being a person of wavering values I’ll tell you that. You can sit here and blatantly misrepresent my point and disregard the very valuable advice I’m giving you. You’re an internet stranger at the end of the day. But even still, I want better for you and I want better for the left so I hope you at least reflect
