I think you can if you're providing for that child's well-being through a structured child support agreement.

Based on his part though

I don’t pay child support, can I still claim them?

Anonymous#15d
He didn’t go to jail or anything? I can’t afford to go back
1
AnonymousOP5d
Nope. He did it for like, 15 years. Even when I lived out of the country (long story)

It even got me in state tuition when I moved back lmfao

Okay my alleged kid lives a few states away apparently so I don’t wanna raise any red flags. That’s good that maybe he’ll get in state tuition if he comes back after I claim him

Based. I wish you the best of luck.

Do you provide for the child's living and have documentation to prove it?

Anonymousfull.metal.everything.5d
I haven’t seen them in years, but I provided for their body when I conceived them
1
Anonymous#35d
I think it boils down to the age, how much time they spend with you, and how much of their support you provide
6
AnonymousOP5d
yeah i doubt you can atp without arranging something with your bm. u need to consult the IRS guides or a tax attorney

Claiming residency for tuition purposes might be easier tbh if he can just use your address for the in-state university applications. Tax reasons are a bit more difficult
