Putin is an evil dictator and the invasion of Ukraine was horrible. At the same time, the amount of otherwise decent and reasonable people I see who are gleeful about dead Russians or talk about Russian people as if they are animals is really staggering. Ironically these people sometimes have really illiterate takes like “Russia is about to invade the EU and they could take Germany” as if Russia isn’t broke and stuck in Ukraine as we speak. Its WW1 brain. Its also very post 9/11 brain.
