Remember when we had a deal with Iran to stop them from developing nukes, which was working, and then Trump and republicans tanked it because Obama did it and they were sure they could get a better deal, and then they absolutely couldn’t?

Paying them billions should not be the strategy. Policy should be that if you try to build nuclear weapons, you will be sanctioned, and then bombed if necessary

You live in some alternate world where you can convince countries with serious security concerns (usually of their own making) to give up their nukes or burgeoning nuclear capabilities while offering nothing in return. That sounds like a great world! I wish I lived there too! Unfortunately, back on planet earth, you have to make deals to get things you want.

And you do know we didn’t pay Iran, right? We dropped sanctions, which allowed them to access *their own* frozen assets.
