Dealing with Anti-Vaxxers during COVID is what made me move left politically. I was a dumb high schooler in 2020 but was fully behind the Republicans, that quickly changed because they are that stupid.

im oop and.... actually yea pretty much the same. i was hard right as a young teenager in 2016-18, and 2019 was more centrist/indifferent. covid came, and i started heavily leftward. for two reasons: 1) i am disabled and am high risk for covid, so i took it very seriously. this ties into 2) i saw bumfucks taking it as a joke. unfortunately, the reason i was right wing when i was young was my family, who were... difficult about covid. they wanted to protect me, but also thought it was a fraud.

theyd put on a mask, but wear it wrong every time. i had to remind them all the time to fix it. they took disinfecting seriously and then didnt give a shit about anything else. in 2021 i wanted to see friends, and that was a huge problem, but not if they did the same. its just a mass of selfishness and anti intellectualism weaponized to support that selfishness. i got a weird angle of it, as my family was selfish about trying to protect me but then not giving a shit about the masks
