It makes me so sad when Christians tell people who have been traumatized/experienced racism in the church that the people who did it “aren’t real Christians” like dude can we take one second where you stop trying to convert people and show some empathy?

Christians love nothing more than ignoring the millions who have died and been slaughtered in the name of it.

I feel like a lot of Christians are trained to think like the personal PR department of Jesus Christ and it makes them completely incapable of connecting with people or acknowledging their negative experiences with the church. It’s just really sad to watch and it re-traumatizes and alienates people who just want to be heard and not converted

I feel the same way when I bring up homophobia or transphobia I’ve experienced from the church and some dipshit feels the need to say “I’m a Christian and I wouldn’t act like that” like okay? Fucking “not all men” ass statement. Stfu

They learned how to love Christ, not how to love other people. They were told how to love others instead, and bc of that only have a few basic responses they can turn towards when trying to comfort someone
