So I read a little more about it. The guy she killed solicited her for sex but the pimp who trafficked her was a different person. I think she also bashed in the head of a hospital attendant which didn’t help her case.

Okay? Those are what we would call “irrelevant” in court.…. Because she killed someone….

I mean if in fact she killed her sex trafficker I imagine the judge would have taken that into account when sentencing her. But this post is misinformation.

That would give the state a case for premeditated murder, given they had known eachother and it’s something she could have pondered and planned. There’s no way these numbers are accurate on their face. 56 years for 1st degree murder is excessive for a minor. But the penalty should still be death. Judges don’t give a pass to vigilantes

It’s still murder but judges absolutely do take Constance into account when sentencing someone. That’s the judges job

I’m not trying to say murder isn’t a criminal act I’m saying that the initial post was basically a lie.

I never said they didn’t. But within reason. And given the fact we have no details here, the only conclusion I can draw is that if this 16 year old got 56 years for one murder then it was fucking brutal and she tried to hide it

Here’s an example of another young white man let off with probation not in California. Across the entire nation, according to the United States Sentencing Commission, the average sentence for abusive sexual contact is 5 years (60 months). An actual battery charge can carry a sentence of 14 years. Notice the difference? But more generally I’m talking about people who rape women & never even get convicted.

Once again, this is from NY - a state with very similar views on criminal justice to California. This just goes to show that liberal “justice reform” is NOT it

it’s about the individual judges deciding these sentences. most states have very similar maximum and minimum sentencing. & you haven’t even acknowledged my other citations.
