My thoughts? I think you are justifying an attempt to kill innocent people whose only crime is being located in Israel while getting pushed out of their mom’s vaginas.

The only thing it would accomplish would be to prove that Israel is not as invincible as they’ve acted for the last few decades. Terrorism is a tactic of psychological warfare, which is often adopted by less-powerful forces against stronger ones, because it’s not meant to singlehandedly defeat the stringer force, it’s meant to show that they’re not invincible.

Like the reason 9/11 was so shocking, beyond the sheer scale of it, was because after the Soviet Union fell, America felt invincible. America was the undisputed top dog on the world stage, and then a force which by all metrics was nothing compared to America’s strength managed to put a scar on our face. It’s just a gesture of “you’re not as strong as you think”

I think the post was more commenting on the dichotomy of narratives than the origin of terroristic motives

I’d argue that America’s post-9/11 wars did more to harm our image of invincibility than the attack itself ever did. We got our lip bloodied, crashed tf out, and went to war for over 20 years and didn’t really gain much of anything. Even if I completely remove morals from the equation, those wars were complete tactical blunders. We lost to the Taliban after 20 years of straight fucking around, and left Iraq rudderless and free for the taking by people even worse than Saddam for our interests.
