People have changed “un-American” to just mean bad and “American” to just mean good. Outright slavery was the American reality for 100 years. Slavery is still legal in America today and both red and blue states have voted to keep it that way in recent memory. Slavery is as American as one could possibly get.

Read the constitution again. https://calmatters.org/politics/elections/2024/11/california-election-result-proposition-6-fails/ Here’s a news article about California voting to keep slavery just last year. Louisiana did the same thing recently (I think 2022, but I might be wrong on that). Slavery is very much still practiced.

They knew that would happen if they got caught for committing their crimes, and are only sorry because they got caught. Yes it should stop and yes for profit prisons should also be abolished but that is simply not slavery. Almost disgusting to compare community service with beds and hot meals to even 1% of what slaves endured.
