Bold to assume the person is renting and not actively paying property tax. I mean it's becoming a more recognized unnecessary evil, but still it's rare for someone to hate it without paying it or knowing someone unfairly affected (and to be clear, I am completely fine with COMMERCIAL property tax, so long as it's non excessive. But property tax for regular homeowners is a fucking crime, now mansion estates you can argue something since it takes up land that could be commercial....
But there is no legitimate justification for taxing the standard American homeowner. They can barely do anything to use their land in a lot of cases (and increasingly more because our country is turning more urban and less rural every day, even if it's not at the IR level), so why tf do they deserve to be taxed for essentially just owning a home for their family????)
the majority of american property taxes are applied to corporations, not person owners . what you are advocating for is a progressive tax system, which is something the republicans have been campaigning against since the dawn of time, with collaboration from the democrat establishment. you should look into the DSA and other progressive candidates tax policy, seems like it’d be right up your alley
