So fun fact Thomas Jefferson actually owned a Quran and a solid 20% (according to the Smithsonian) of slaves coming in were Muslim, so to say that the US was founded as a Christian nation, when it was initially a economic colony, is funny af
Yeah so we are a Christian nationalist nation. Fucking disgusting. So glad I left it.

What a lot of these people fail to recognize is there used to be official churches in the colonies that did discriminate and persecute against those who practiced separate religions. Jefferson was deeply disturbed by this and it ultimately lead to creating the Virginia Statue for Religious Freedom. This eventually became a model for the religious clauses of the first amendment added in 1791.

It infuriates me when people don’t understand amendments were added after the constitution was written. So having these idiots be all about the, “constitution party” but hating the 19th amendment, wanting Trump to run a 3rd term (22nd amendment) and the 15th amendment. All while neglecting the fact that their right to bear arms was also not a part of the original constitution, thus removing one of those amendments opens the gates to taking away their guns too.

It’s kinda in the name of being an amendment, it’s very silly of them
