like obviously its not about trans people on the surface, but the idea of choosing between the pills, one symbolizing the easy and mainstream path, and the other meaning to break free of the rigidness of society and be your more truly embodied self… thats the metaphot

or.. it was a metaphor these are the writers btw (lana and lilly), they transitioned a few years after the movie came out
