Conservatives always begging for friendship by constantly yelling about how politics shouldn’t affect friendships will always be hilarious

One of the biggest realizations i had as a former MAGAt is that i cant care about someone if i dont support people and things that help them. And not things that i thought would help from my own perspective, but what they want. Thats the mindset were missing in america. Thanks for this because lately ive been trying to think about what finally made me shift

That’s bc liberals and leftists are usually nice people to be around, and conservatives aren’t. Conservatives are spiteful and hateful people, and so in spite of having ideological similarities, they don’t like the company of one another. And when liberals or leftists (rightfully) want nothing to do with conservatives, they pull the “why does it always have to be about politics” card

I know a few conservatives that I play video games with. I’ve gotten some of them to shift perspectives a lot. The most effective thing is to find common ground (usually corporate money) and reframe the language to sound more appealing to them, showing that most left policies are helping them.

Also if they try to bring up trans people, ask them why it matters that a few more dudes piss sitting down or a few more chicks are in a private stall. The most egregious parts of the whole “issue” is that women’s bathroom lines get even longer and that stall gaps are so big that it infringes on their privacy.

Yeah, keyword is USUALLY. Obviously it depends on who it is and what they believe, because why would we EVER be nice to fascists?🤨

I’m a conservative and one of my best friends is a liberal. Hell pretty much my entire family is liberal and we all get along fine besides the occasional Thanksgiving quarrel. It’s die hard leftist’s that are difficult for me to get along with tho. It starts out fine then we talk about politics, I say I’m a conservative, and then the conversation just becomes them berating me about how uneducated and ignorant I am. Liberals tend to be pleasant people, but the far left is just bitter.

Buddy I can only spell it out so much for you. I said USUALLY. In no way am I saying that every single liberal or leftist is a nice person Also statistically, the more conservative you are the less likely you are to be well educated, so kinda makes sense that people would latch onto that

“you’re from the suburbs, i’m friends with more black people than you’ve seen, pipe down.” or if you don’t want to be so direct, just talk about how most black ppl are hard-working Americans whose (non-monolithic btw) culture has been exaggerated and misconstrued by mainstream media and hollywood elites to make a quick buck, either through rural fear or films, hence the genre “blaxploitation.”

it’s mostly a matter of breaking through to them with their own language. they hold loyalty to country and divinity to a higher standard than empathy and blatant facts, and the opposite is true for the left. you can package a speech in the language of the other side and make huge progress. Hard-bias sources use a party’s language to alienate them from the other side. Even if you disagree with someone, it’s so important to realize they’re still human, just that they were shoveled propaganda

This is just my own personal experience but since conservatives always complain about liberal professors “indoctrinating” people, yes most of my professors have been liberal but it wasnt the classes that got me out of my high school trump mindset. It was all the people i met at college and made friends with.
