I have a masters in security studies, wrote my thesis on Russian nuclear strategy, and I still don’t act like this. Instead of being assholes to people for knowing less about something, how bout patiently informing them

I love that I took Weapons Of Mass Destruction as a course in college so now I get to yell at people who say “Iran has talked about a dirty bomb before, clearly they’re on the verge of nukes” for not knowing the difference between a nuke and an RDD.

When those people are using faulty information to suggest we should go to a war in which millions of people would die, then yeah I’m a lot less patient with their ignorance, sorry

That’s understandable, but as a general rule acting like that won’t accomplish anything. It’ll just push people away and when we’re talking about such important topics as national and international security, the last thing you want is to push people you condone educated back into the embrace of ignorance. And remember, someone always knows more than you do. Let’s try to be more humble
