2 things to clarify *he would take slave owner’s kids to show them what it felt like to have your child taken away and sold off as families were routinely broken up in slavery. *he wasn’t entirely plant based still ate milk and honey but did not eat meat or fish and opted not to use clothes made from wool nor slave cotton due to his general stance against exploitation

Oh last thing to clarify: quakers were known to be one of the first if not the first white church to take a stand against slavery and that was BECAUSE of Benjamin so he was abolitionist before even them and were taking actions against slave owning Quakers and Quaker meeting houses which eventually led the church to being abolitionist.
