The Christin Evangelic nationalism thing is wild because their own theology is that what you do doesnt matter, its if you think Jesus exists. By their own theology its pointless to try and live by “traditional” values. Yet they want to enforce it.

My dad, who is atheist, asked his siblings who all converted to evangelicalism about this sort of thing and they essentially said that you can be the best most philanthropic and charitable person but if you don’t believe in Jesus you don’t get to go to heaven, you go to hell. But if you’re a violent, horrible, abusive and selfish person and you do believe in Jesus you would potentially go to heaven

Well…not quite The threshold to be a Christian is to believe in Jesus Christ as the messiah, but to be a GOOD Christian (in their eyes) you have to follow those values

And part of their values is spreading the beliefs and “saving” people by “helping” them also follow those values

I thought it was the Trinity, not Jesus is the messiah

Eh different denominations focus on it more than others. But the technical only divider of Christian vs non Christian is believing in Jesus Christ as your savior
