The stock market represents roughly 10% of Americans. And I hate to break to you, but you’re not in that 10%. You’re not even in the top 50% if you’re on this app instead of whatever cringe exclusive app the trust fund kids in the ivy leagues schools get (if they even go to college).

This article is: A.) over a decade old B.) doesn’t actually show falling wages C.) horribly misleading and from a highly biased think tank

things have been kinda wonky recently bc of the pandemic which is why I went earlier + epi is not highly biased 😭

Why not just post a graph of real wages over time? Why post a decade old article that avoids the only graph that really answers the question?

Here’s real median weekly earnings. The only time they’ve been higher than the most recent data is when the 2020 stimulus payments went out. A reasonable person can’t possibly look at this and conclude that wages are falling.

Cool. Now where’s the chart for inflation?

“Real” means that its already adjusted for inflation.

Just to be clear, the bottom 50% of the country owns less than 1% of the stock market.

Small issue… the Trump administration blatantly lies. Anyone who publishes numbers that hurt their narrative literally gets fired.
