People hate on Cali and move to Texas bc it’s “more affordable” aka, they have Cali money to spend to cover up what Texas fails to provide through taxes. They both have the same problems: cities overpopulated, roads and bad infrastructure problems, job market fluctuations and stagnation. All of these things effect poor Texans more than it effects poor Californians. At least California tries to provide you with some social services. Texas you’re all on your own. You see it throughout the South.

People hate the north and west coast, but come to the south and get to live only a sliver above their home state economic status, and they think it’s the best. Bc you had the resources from your home state. I couldn’t leave the south and live in these other states as easy bc our working class incomes are so drastically lower than west coast and northern states. But yeah, it must be nice to buy a McMansion when all you had was a rancher.
