And so some officers suffocated him to death on the sidewalk in front of bystanders out of negligence/intent, and tried to cover it up/downplay the situation instead of owning up to the mistake. I know some other misogynistic felons in office probably doing illegal drugs, what do you say about giving THEM the same treatment? “But that’s different” and should it be though? Should we treat politicians to different laws and consequences if THAT was ok?
Yes thats exactly what I am doing. I did it when Brian Thompson got liquidated, I did it when Herman Cain croaked, I will do it again when it happens again and every time until its my turn, and I hope they get me in the body so I can laugh about it all one last time, because any time one of the elite or their bootlicking sycophants meets hell I rejoice. It’s not red vs blue, it’s us vs elites, and if you defend elites at all you are losing.
I don’t think the guy who killed Charlie Kirk did a good thing by any means, but it absolutely was the chickens coming home to roost. When you spread the type of propaganda Charlie did, when you call the Civil Rights Act a “mistake,” slander MLK, minimize gun violence, and every other bit of venom he ever spat out, with the STATED GOAL of making people angry, people are gonna be angry with you. I don’t think shooting him was the right way to take that anger out though.
It’s totally fine to mock Charlie Kirk with his own words, he chose to spend his time on this earth spreading hatred, why should I suddenly feel bad for him when it catches up? I think it’s gonna have bad effects and the President is gonna use it as an excuse to crack down on opposition, so I’m not *celebrating* but I absolutely cannot be asked to spare a single fuck for Old Charles
Yeah normal people with common sense know that he didn’t deserve to be assassinated in any way shape or form. The issue isn’t people being angry with him it’s people trying desperately to find ways to justify why they’re excited they witnessed his murder. It’s just the evilness in the world and Jesus is the only way
I don’t think he deserved to be assassinated, I think he deserved to be made a pariah from polite society. Now, I’m not gonna hop on the trend of pretending he was any kind of “moderate” or a remotely decent person just because he died. If you want my respect in death you gotta not be a piece of shit in life.
I mean it is kinda darkly funny that Charlie Kirk got shot while making a defense of gun rights in the face of mass shootings, in the same way it’s darkly funny that Rush Limbaugh died of lung cancer after decades of arguing that the government was lying about tobacco causing lung cancer. I’m not pro-murder or pro-cancer but the irony isn’t lost on me either.
Nah man I don’t even think guns should be taken away, I just think there should be tighter regulations on getting one, with less loopholes. I think to get a gun you should have to get a basic psych-eval and take safety classes BEFORE the purchase, for example. And I don’t think most reasonable people would view that as “I’m taking all your guns right now!” but that’s how the NRA and people like Charlie portray my position because they’re bought and paid for by gun manufacturers.
The irony of being in the middle of a point about school shootings and then getting shot at a school is kinda crazy. Also, I’m not pro-gun in the way Charlie Kirk and other conservatives are. The right to own a gun does not mean that there can be no time-and-place regulations for getting one. And no Democratic politician has argued for just abolishing the 2nd Amendment and taking everyone’s guns. They’ve argued for time-and-place regulations on the exercise of the 2nd Amendment, which are fine.
i think the main issue is right wingers don’t see politics as a right vs left spectrum. they genuinely see everything as ‘the truth/common sense’ vs stuff they don’t understand so it’s extremely difficult for them to sympathize or rationalize on a meaningful level
He was a direct advisor of Trump, so you’re wrong on that front too “When a foreigner comes with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God." Leviticus 19:33-34
Charlie Kirk used the lords name in vain, to pedal teachings that were directly against what Jesus believed. If I kill a hundred people, but say I believe in the Bible and I love God, does that make me a good Christian? Using the name of God to convince more people like you to follow him is not Christian, it is a perversion of the word
I did watch that video and at no point does he justify the shooting of Charlie Kirk, he reflects on the moment being surreal since he was scheduled to debate with Charlie and now will not get to, talks about how awful the video was to watch, and he talks about it being scary because now he feels like the Right is gonna wanna strike back like they’ve been talking about for the last few days, and he thinks he may be a target of retaliation. No justifications in there.
“He was guilty of nothing except saying things people didn’t like you didn’t like… many people’s eyes have been opened from this.” You’re acting like he was a good innocent person he wasn’t you downplay his normalization of all kinds of bigotry as some things that the crazy people didn’t like. That’s what I’m going on about how people like you are lionizing him and acting like he didn’t spread bigoted bull shit.
That’s not all he said you imbecile I used your exact words and you changed it into something I didn’t say anything about. You said that he didn’t do anything wrong except say some things that some people disagree with. Why are you downplaying his bigotry and unjustified hatred of people based on immutable characteristics? Why
I hope you know you are loved and even though I can’t understand people who are celebrating the assassination of an innocent man I do understand that many people disagreed with him. that doesn’t negate that he didn’t deserve to be killed for speaking on what he believed in and inviting debate. Also his target audience was our generation and we killed him for it and it just feels evil. That’s all
