Not really. It’s going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better

In my opinion, the only answer is to eliminate the figurehead. I believe that while it’d make him into a martyr in the short term, the news cycle and public consciousness moves sk fast that within a few years they’ll come to their senses. Without someone to nucleate around, there’d no longer be cohesion between Nazis and moderate conservatives. If someone takes the figurehead’s place and redoubles the fascist rhetoric, however, this gamble could backfire big time.

Stop. That’s the kind of black-and-white thinking that got us into this mess and gets people killed. You HAVE to understand that these are all still people, and the majority have been fed lies and exist entirely within echo chambers. They’re trapped in a cult, and you cannot simply leave a cult. And when you’re in a cult, you will believe everything your leader says, even when it’s contradictory. That doesn’t mean they are incapable of change, they just need to be broken out of it.

I promise you, assassinating Fuentes will do absolutely nothing but backfire. More people resonate with him than you think and his message is one that will explode and WILL radicalize thousands of Americans. And if you really think the answer to fixing politics is assassinations, you are no better than the tyrants. Please think. NJF is NOT someone you want to martyr.

no it isn’t. these people are not redeemable. they are poor victims, they’re adults who made their own choices. they are bad people who deserve to be socially punished for their support of genocide, dictatorship etc. how do you reintegrate people into society who literally dream of a world where their (black, gay, trans, muslim, jewish etc.) neighbors are literally murdered by the state. because that’s what it is. they dream of a society ruled exclusively ruled by their preferred religion/race

Im not a fan of his but if he gets assassinated then it will 1000x the growth of right wing and radical politics. He is EXTREMELY influential right now and that is the last thing we want

what exactly am i wrong about? why are neo nazis just poor babies that we have to forgive because they don’t know any better? they are building camps? the modern day SS is kidnapping people all across the country and sending them to god knows where. they are openly working to rig future elections in their favor. anyone who voted for Trump is not a “moderate conservative”

I have a question for you. What exactly do you think happened to the Nazis after WW2? Not the Nazi official, but the legions of normal people who supported the Nazi party. It’s not like they were unpopular. Do you think they were all rounded up and shot? Or do you think that they continued to live normal lives and reintegrate into society? This isn’t an opinion question, I want the factual answer to this question, because it is the answer to yours.

I want you to read up on the psychology behind cults and how they maintain control. I know you probably won’t, but if you want to be an informed citizen you should. It doesn’t make the individuals involved blameless, but they are still victims. So if we are to dismantle their power, we must address it in the same way and break the GOP’s rule over their thoughts. We can’t ostracize half the country, because that’s how you get this problem in the first place.

“Us vs them” or rather “us vs the Democrats” is the one of the driving narratives of MAGA. Socially punishing (or ostracizing) them will fuel another rise of the same ideology. It’s a practical, real world concern. So politely, pull your head out of your ass and look at facts.

I’m actually referring to Trump, not Fuentes. I believe that the only reason fascists have such a stranglehold is because they’ve recruited the moderate conservatives that otherwise would not align with them. Fuentes is important for Nazis, but without Trump, he’d lose the majority of his base as the right dissolves back to normal. But I agree, assassinating Fuentes would make him a permanent martyr for fascists.

Do you live under a rock? Calling MAGA a cult is extremely common, and for good reason due to the similarities.

Taking out Trump would be even worse. A modern presidential assassination would put Vance in office and give him the green light to make unprecedented changes and policies. We would lose rights 10x faster if Vance was president after a Trump assassination. I still believe you are wrong. That would birth a whole new set of problems for everyone. Assassinations are not the answer unless its a full out revaluation.

I do agree that it’d be a massive gamble and worsen things for the short term, and that gamble could backfire if Vance takes Trump’s place, but I think that his regime models that of a personalist dictatorship. Without Trump himself at the helm, it’ll lose a lot of steam once the initial chaos dies down, and I don’t think Vance is popular or Trump-y enough to maintain a hold over the cult. Though again, I agree that it could backfire massively.

Donating your own hard earned money to a billionaire’s MANY court cases is cult behavior yes.

As for losing rights, you’re probably correct. Though the politicians involved would also be less inclined to support everything Vance does as they do Trump, so he would have a more difficult time doing so. But we’ll lose them anyways if Trump is allowed to continue ruling the U.S, so personally I’m willing to take that gamble. Totally understand if you don’t though. Your points are very valid.

You really think a billionaire needs your money… he created doge to make tax dollars worth more, has bettered the economy, prices have dropped, unemployment has dropped to 4.1% and he is cleaning out our country JUST like every other country that has illegal immigrants and let’s not forget that he hasn’t even touched the number of getting rid of immigrants than someone like Obama or someone else has. I support trump when he does good and criticize him when he does bad.

EVERY president we have ever had isn’t just perfect and does everything right, “I vote blue no matter who” is no more a cult than MAGA

DOGE did nothing except waste taxpayer dollars and steal American’s data to sell to private companies. Jobs growth is sharply negative (and now he’s appointing someone to make up better numbers for him). Inflation is currently on pace to make covid pandemic rates continuously due to the tariffs. the economy is actively falling apart and prices up rising quickly, because companies can no longer afford to eat the loss on tariffs. For the second time Trump is being handed a decent enough economy

what long term gains? if tariffs work as they’re meant to… tariff revenue naturally goes down over time. you guys are tieing yourself into knots to explain why Trump putting a between 15-30% tax on basically all goods is a good thing actually.
