Crazy because in this scenario I am 100% getting mad at the factory worker. ICE is technically working class, but they, like this hypothetical worker would be class traitorsICE sells their labor for a paycheck. They do not own the means of production. However, their role as workers serves to benefit the corporations that use second class citizenship and the threat of deportation to exploit their workers. Also the private detention centers benefit from being filled by ICE, which is another way in which ICE are class traitors
I’m not a leftist, say take that as you will, but I don’t know if I agree with your framing(Leninist I’m assuming?) about ICE being class traitors. I mean they’re definitely ideologically captured, but even that I don’t really because that gives the impression they’re being tricked. I can’t speak to the older ICE agents, but the newer ones are almost certainly not doing it for a paycheck.
For police, I think it gets a little trickier or even the American military because I think you can explain those with material incentives, ideological capture, or possibly false consciousness…but ICE? It’s been awhile since I’ve picked up Marx or Lenin, but I’d be curious to see if it can explain core ideological beliefs like xenophobia or isolationism based on racism in regard to ICE.
