How is this country going to improve education, help impoverished people, rebuild communities, and deconstruct insurance corruption when people think Starbucks employees are enslaved
The stores with unions, aka, the stores where the employees can actually debate and argue for better treatment instead of just being told “just quit”. Y’all love the results of slave labor, but don’t support the slaves? Make it make sense

They aren’t literally slaves. They must rent their labour power to a corporation, whom usurps the surplus value created by their labour, to feed into more capital. It’s an orphan crushing machine that the majority of people must contribute to in some way. Even if it seems like a “soft” job, it’s still hours of your life taken from you

I don’t believe this is an accurate view of the situation. I don’t believe most employees of Starbucks would agree with your description of their employment. People who want money ask Starbucks to pay them for making coffee.

You think they do it just because they like making coffee?

How did they manage to do this? Aren’t the resources to make all this coffee and paying people to make the coffee expensive?

It is relatively cheap to get coffee beans and pay someone to make coffee. Once you sell a lot of coffee, and want to sell even more coffee, maybe in a different location, then you have to buy a lot of beans and pay a lot of people. Operating at scale is expensive.
