I do think a big part of MAGA hating on cities and democratic states in general is that they are very multicultural

SF is sick, I go almost every month. Been to Iowa, literally nothing out there. Biggest city is smaller than the avg CA suburb

That's partly why they hate higher education too Once a rural kid goes to college and meets people they're supposed to hate and realizes they aren't that different, the hate goes away. Without hate the GOP agenda is nothing
