I am asking this question with genuine curiosity: do you think this was a right wing politically fueled attack or do you think it was more likely the product of long term mental illness and a psychotic break?

I think being right wing and being driven to a violent psychotic break are directly linked. But also yes I think this had political motivations

Interesting. I think we’ve seen multiple examples in which politics/social issues in both directions have almost egged on or exasperated mental illness symptoms resulting in violence. Obviously mental illness has been a conversation since forever but it feels that we are seeing more and more people who cannot cope or function with daily life committing violence on others and I see that as the root of these killings.
