I’ve noticed that those people tend to be from blue states, where the powers that be are liberals. And it’s liberals who do the evil capitalist politician shit in their neighborhood. I feel like red state leftists kinda cringe at liberal antics sometimes but are mostly of the “we have a much bigger problem than liberal cringe rn” mindset
Like, I can’t lie, if I lived in San Francisco, I’d think Nancy Pelosi was the fuckin’ worst person around. Just the worst. Because she’d be my representative, and I’d be disappointed in that. Living in a red state, in a red congressional district, I expected nothing good from my representatives and it pissed me off way less because I was just like “Yeah, they’re Republicans, they’re kinda evil. Is what it is.”
I can 100% imagine why leftists in cities like that, represented by some octogenarian who’s been in power since like the 1980s and bribed a million ways, while also being known as the most progressive localities in the country. I’d be mad as hell. At the neoliberals specifically. But being from a red state, I’m rarely gonna bring up some liberal politician I particularly dislike before mentioning Republicans being bad.
Yeah I lived in North Carolina and recently moved to Oregon, and in North Carolina, the NCGOP was the real enemy faction in power in the legislature, and our Democrat governor was pretty much relegated to being a veto merchant for their craziest backwards shit. There wasn’t enough time in the day for me to be going after Roy Cooper and not the party legislating insane shit on the daily.
