Sometimes it’s not that the education wasn’t there, but it’s that people are there for the vibes and not to learn things. I say this with much love because I’m a teacher, but it’s not just the funding that needs an overhaul, but the students and curriculum as well.

Oh I know. It’s just I see a lot of people blindly following others, not checking their biases, etc. I’m going to be a history teacher so I’m going to try my best to cultivate curiosity and an inquisitive mindset in as many students as I can. Or I hope at least.

All we really hope for is to grow life long learners. I’m a reading student teaching assistant. Trust me when I say I get the blindly following others thing. It starts young because I taught first graders last semester that did the same. My favorite piece of advice that my mentors have given me is: meet the kids where their interests are. You don’t have to follow the traditional path with how you teach. This past year I’ve learned all about gimkit and blooket. They’re both alternatives to Kahoot
