The earliest English settlers brought about fundamental wrongness in our county. Even if slavery didn’t exist, the religious psychosis nutjobs (pilgrims) would still be here just to persecute even more extremely than the British crown. If it were all Quakers on the other hand, even policies like Manifest Destiny would’ve never took off. Even with that, Quakers had a tendency to be too lenient and even embrace problematic cults with open arms.
