I mean there are a ton of ways that doesn’t actually intersect. In Australia, being black means being aboriginal, not African. There are “black” ethnicities in Melanesia, and Southeast Asia without stronger ancestral ties to Africa than a European. Many black people have ancestry from Africa but I think it’s ridiculous to act like the black communities of the Americas do not belong there. An Afro-Cuban is still Cuban. And people adopt the culture of their surroundings.
Black people have been assimilated into Native American tribes, most notably the Seminoles. Black people have been an active part of French politics for hundreds of years. You live in fucking America for fucks sake, how can you possibly claim to not understand the concept of immigrant communities becoming a part of their new country.
Genuinely, how are people coming to the conclusion that America wasn’t predominantly built by WASPs? Certain economic sectors either exploited or enslaved other groups for their labor, but that in total makes up a minuscule percentage of our infrastructure and systems that define our country.
Today, yes, as most infrastructure has been replaced. The point is that the infrastructure which founded the country and allowed for further expansion and growth into what it is today was in fact primarily built by non-white people, almost always under compromising circumstances for the worker.
