The biggest defense contractor in the United States Lockheed Martin is donating 10 million dollars to the white house ball room. They expected “nothing in return” This shit is so obviously not privately funded it’s almost comedic at this point

Correct. Regulations increase the barrier to entry, and decrease competition. Thats why Facebook lobbies for complex privacy regulations and Amazon lobbies to increase the minimum wage.

thats lobbying for very very specific regulation, essentially aiming a gun at opponents' legs. regulation, in general - like safety requirements, environmental requirements, procedural requirements, and more, which are the majority of regulations, require businesses spend more to perform the same tasks with zero profit benefits. a fruitless expense, a hurdle to progress.
