 Stop normalizing being in public sick :) not to mention the amount of court clogging this will do that allow more abused children to “slip through the cracks”. Or the fact measles is back. School district trampling on kids’s rights to heal from illness

Staying home because a doctor told you to, because you are sick with a temporary illness, is not the cause of chronic absenteeism

Like I assure you Timmy missing a week of school bc he had the flu is NOT why test scores have plummeted and we are behind every other developed nation

Because you can basically get a doctor’s note for anything, but it’s more in response to the fact that kids can miss 90% of the school year with no repercussions for the parents or student.

No, you can’t. Unless you have a doctor we should be reporting. They’re justifying it by saying “kids won’t be able to miss work when they have the sniffles”. But, they should. We all should. We should not allow society to function based on how our employers trample on our rights. Thus, not allow schools to either. Every other developed country has to literally train new American employees on staying home when they’re sick. Is that not dystopian to you?
