This video from the 2003 US invasion of Iraq US soldiers taped a ready-to-eat meal to their humvee and dragged it behind them as hungry Iraqi children chased them So yeah sorry for not feeling sad for anyone today besides the civilian victims of 9/11If you knew the context behind the video. The children were being used by the taliban with explosives strapped to them. The soliders were trying to give them food with out getting in a dangerous distance. This is like a 5 second clip. In the full video they cut the rope so they can get the food. Educate yourself
This isn’t the same video, but there was a similar video of soldiers doing the same thing with a water bottle that went even more viral at the time. So it shows that this is something that definitely was commonplace to the point that the pentagon got involved https://www.cnet.com/culture/report-pentagon-investigates-youtube-video-of-u-s-troops/
“A 2007 RAND Corporation study on U.S. Army operations in Iraq reports that Iraqi children would run alongside military vehicles and soldiers sometimes rewarded them with candy or MRE snacks. It then explains that this practice was prohibited because Iraqi children had been killed running out to retrieve food tossed from coalition vehicles.” They were forced to separate themselves from the children when handing out food which is why they dragged it along with the fear of explosives.
Well that’s the situation those kids are in. That’s why the us soldiers aren’t organizing a game of flag football, they don’t know if the kids carry explosives (something that happened) nor do the kids trust them, they don’t speak the same language either so we’re not gonna talk our way through this one
