I’ll give my two cents. You’re reading it as “23% of black people are on food stamps” which isn’t what it says. It’s saying “23% of people that are on food stamps are black”

its not embarrassing, it makes light of an underlying problem. noone with half a brain would ever assume poverty is innate to a whole race, and racists need to know that what they’re complaining about/wanting to be taken away is gonna affect more white ppl than anyone else

reporting it is crazy. you seem to be the only one having an issue with it, and like i said, we know why more of the black community needs this kind of support than the white community, thats perfectly understandable and is something im sure most people took into account when evaluating this stat i dont get how true statistics can be racist or problematic… if you interpret it that way thats on you, the rest of us seem to get it just fine

I don’t think you understand how significant that percentage is. If the black population had 212 million people and this percentage stayed true black people would consume over half of all food stamps.
