Well that’s not really the question they’re trying to answer, is it? The defense’s argument isn’t that she didn’t do it, it’s that she can’t be criminally charged because of her mental state at the time.

I think there’s three different debates going on, really 1) Whether or not she did it 2) Whether it was done in cold blood or due to mental health issues 3) What should happen to her if it was mental health issues (should she be in prison, permanently hospitalized, released, etc)

Yes but there needs to be reform on the psychiatric industry, she should not have been prescribed the things that she has. I also think the case shouldn’t be closed without further investigation.

i am not on the jury so idk all the information but if she really was suffering from postpartum psychosis exacerbated by inappropriate medications and lack of care and support from her husband and doctors, there’s no punishment for her that could come even close to the pain she is already feeling. like if that’s the case, her life is already ruined. she will probably need lifelong psychiatric care and the public focus and blame should shift to her doctors and the maternal health care system
