Nobody actually really even minds background checks when Americans get polled on the issue, it’s just that the NRA and their pet politicians call anything that would result in 1 cent less profit for gun manufacturers “LITERALLY STALIN & HITLER COMBINED” and half of mfs don’t know how to read above a 6th grade level
