Ice needs to be reformed not abolished. We still need to deport illegals and criminals but not in a cruel way they have been doing.

Immigration and naturalization was handled perfectly well without a militarized groyper police force all the way from 1776-2003. There is no excuse for ICE to exist, it cannot stand to be abused again and again

ICE cannot be reformed, and serves no legitimate purpose. The very groundwater is poisoned.

I agree with the sentiment but like amethyst_headphone said, the groundwater is poisoned. That agency (or at the very least, ERO) and all the policies around it are cooked. It’s not worth trying to save. Just dismantle it and start a new one that actually operates with accountability and regard for human rights

The INS (since 1933) is who did it before ICE. They were under the DOL for a bit and mostly under the DOJ, not DHS

I used to agree that it needed reform but this is one of those cases where it’s far more effective to just start again. Everyone in ERO needs to be fired. Anyone in HSI that dealt with immigration matters unrelated to human trafficking needs to be fired (the rest of HSI honestly would fit better in the FBI). Customs enforcement should arguably be under CBP and/or FBI if crime is involved. And ERO and immigration court needs to be completely reinvented from scratch
