The problem with “self diagnosis” isn’t that it’s rampant or “making people use disability to their advantage”. It’s that people become desensitized to the real issues that impact disability and we use bad words to describe them.

My neurodivergence isn’t my “whimsy” or “superpower”. It’s how my brain works. It can cause problems, and give me limited advantages. I’m not a child, I’m a grown adult who has a medical condition. Just like having a heart problem or cancer.

that being said, if you have a problem and can’t afford or have access to good doctors-and you feel as if though your situation may be because of a undiagnosed issues. Go ahead and assume you have a problem. Just don’t try to morph it into something it isn’t.
