Appreciate the extra info. Considering their similarities as figures, I imagine Modi supporters are similar to Trump fans

Pretty much, although I think Modi has accomplished more good than Trump (e.g. rapid infrastructure development, improvements in social programs, economic growth). They both use minorities as a scapegoat though, both have infringed on press freedom (Modi earlier than Trump though), and both support an increased centralization of government power at the national level
