can we get just a smidgen of gun safety classes requirements? i know this happens all the time bc i saw it growing up and still see it in backcountry… like let’s just get common sense education nationwide like we did with Swine flu or another epidemic…

I got into it with a 2A absolutist earlier today. They see any regulation as banning all guns and hurting their culture. So while people like THAT have votes that count the same as our’s, gun control is as likely in America as convincing a mountain to jump.

yes!! like we already do hunter’s safety requirements, hunting & fishing licenses, and requirements for weapons to be stored prior to entering game territory. anybody with a gun but zero prior knowledge on how to shoot, aim, clean, handle, store, or control a firearm should not be supplied with a same-day firearm purchase even with a clean background check. that is so damn reckless.

switch my train of thought mid sentence. basically anyone who is oblivious to gun handling & safety skills is a potential hazard to the public. there is a good handful of those hazards in public, especially in road rage incidents.
