They aren’t, however, it’s easy to be upset at them because their attitude of trying to compromise and find the middle ground has made it easy for far right republicans and radical racists to become a growing problem while they do nothing about it. So while it isn’t their direct fault, it could be said their inaction has led to a racist child diddler becoming the most powerful man in the country.
