the word racism can refer to several things, bigotry, stereotyping, systemic issues, colorism etc white people get confused and try to deny it exists because they 1. dont think theyre a bigot or dont think most ppl are. 2. they think every race has stereotypes 3. they dont see systemic issues what is undeniable though is that the farther a person is from looking white, the more race-based prejudice they’ll probably face. its no coincidence that the races most hated on social media and in
and in regards to dating are the two typically darkest races (black and indian). i’d also argue that asians (while they do face stereotyping) tend to not be demonized or made fun of as much when we refer to this entire issue at hand, how people put down other races (with stereotypes or straight up hate) we tend ti call it racism. i think colorism is a more accurate read
ive met a lot of racist in my life (i was raised in a small southern town). the way they treat asians and light skinned or mixed (anything mixed with white) people is noticeably different. to be frank, they joke about their race the way someone might joke about their friend being fat or having a large head. its obviously still of racist intent but its almost like if ur xyz race but of lighter skin you are almost white just “with a flaw” to them. if they can make fun of that “flaw” they deem
you “one of the good ones” and accept it. ive seen them do this sometimes with darkskinned black men that “give them the pass” too. also im not rlly making a point anymore, more sharing what ive observed. my point is just that there’s weird “rules” among most modern racists. its not all “we dont talk to your kind” anymore. its all political almost. like they want people to “convert” to “being white”
