“My concept of religion is what the internet told me about American cultural Christianity” type post The idea of “believing” in a religion is very new. In most of cultures in most of history (until like the 1800s) gods and spirits were just a fact of life. Many also believed the afterlife, if any, just sucked for everyone but maybe the king who got to be a god.
