it’s from the recent “production” (used loosely because it was Literally three days) of jesus christ superstar. cynthia erivo was cast as jesus & adam lambert as judas. they’re whining about jesus being portrayed by a black lesbian and adam lambert by a flamboyant gay guy

*sorry cynthia erivo is bisexual IIRC. but what’s important to know about jesus christ superstar is that it’s a rock opera. it’s not a serious depiction of the last days of jesus’ life nor has it ever been 😭 not to mention it’s been around for DECADES and the way directors tend to stage the performance now leans closer to a concert than a true musical (stripped sets, neutral costuming). also king herod is normally played by a drag queen 😭😭😭 LIKE omg ppl take it up w ALW and tim rice
