Heretical image, yuck. Trump is very far from the life of Christ and should not be depicted as Christ or in Christ like manor.

That’s fair. The whole nation has an issue with false idols even if you’re not religious, just in a pragmatic sense. Like I knew more people who knew what the Kardashians/Tswift and her bf were doing than their own siblings.

Newsflash: You’re able to not be religious or give a shit about the sanctity of a certain religion while still criticizing some of its followers. I’m atheist and know that Kenneth Copeland is a corrupt disgrace. Same with Trump and all his “spiritual advisors”

I’m not really sure how that’s relevant. OP telling people what religious posters are allowed and what aren’t is literally projecting religion onto people, not the other way around

Which is irrelevant to anything that occurred here. What does acknowledging Trump being corrupt have to do with pointing out that people supposedly advocating for the sanctity of a religion are doing it inconsistently/virtue signaling?

Buddy, it’s 8:20am and I’m enroute to my job, I have no interest trying to back up what I say against the parameters you set in an anonymous YikYak chat. I’m just saying Trump, his religious advisors and people like Copeland pick and and choose which parts of religion they’ll follow (whatever makes them rich) and that a lot of that religion’s annoying followers will do the same except they’re getting bent over by the rich people so they choose based on whatever is most convenient

I didn’t ask you to be here lol. Luckily for both of us Copeland, Trump, nor his advisors are here on Yikyak posting, defending, or criticizing religious-style art. So thank you for your semi-relevant opinion I guess? Safe travels to work

Still not the point. How is it that 1 person can post something, someone else can respond, I can give my opinion, and then some other person will pop in to irrelevantly bring up Trump? I criticized OP and OP only for doing exactly what everyone else criticizes. Pushing religious beliefs onto other people and picking and choosing. Why is anything Trump posts relevant to anything I’ve said?

-It’s not a religious belief nor did he pick and choose anything. It’s a fact that depicting a politician as a divine figure is heretical. That’s all he said. -You claimed Trump does not post religious style art.

Calling something heretical is inherently a religiously charged statement. Also second half of message clearly lays out what he believes should and should not be allowed to be portrayed in art. And I claimed he’s not here on Yikyak (specifically in this thread) so it’s not relevant to anything I’ve said. The only relevant people are OOP, OP, myself, and anyone who inserts themselves.

He’s stating his beliefs on art. It being related to religion doesn’t make it “pushing religious beliefs onto others.” If I say cartoons shouldn’t have porn in them am I pushing my sexuality on others? Who is disagreeing with the idea that Trump is not Christ?

Bro, again. Calling it heretical is an inherently religious belief. OP is disagreeing not that Trump is Christ (obviously he isn't) but that Trump is not ALLOWED to be portrayed as him. Why? Because RELIGION does not allow it.

First of all, I am a Christian I’m a member of the Episcopal Church. Also, I didn’t call Trump heretical I called the image of him depicted like a saint or Christ like figure heretical which is different.

I also didn’t say anything about anyone being “allowed“ to depict Trump as Christ like. We live in America. We have the first amendment. However, if you’re claiming to be Christian and depicting Trump like this, you’re being a heretic.

That’s super simple the church I belong to is gay affirming in our bylaws on an international level. However, obviously, has Christianity has different sectors, and those sectors allow different things. What’s heretical to me might not be heretical to you and vice versa. I’m not trying to be disrespectful of anybody’s beliefs. I am stating an opinion just as you are.

Because Trump has literally never lived a life anywhere close to any of the actions that Jesus took in the Bible. Putting them on the same level in art is heretical in the very theory of Christianity. If you were a Christian doing that is inherently disrespectful to Christ.

Also, the only way this poster is religious is if people are actually worshiping Trump like he is sent from God. I wouldn’t even categorize this as a religious art depiction. It’s more propaganda AI generated bullshit.

So what you’re saying is in fact a fact of Christianity. And I and anyone else could argue that claiming something is a mistranslation when it so obviously isn’t in order to adapt to modern social norms (the original Hebrew specifically says “Male” not “boy”) is heretical as well as a fact of Christianity because the Bible IS the very theory of Christianity

Actually, is someone who does a lot of Bible scholarship the original Hebrew says man and boy as there is a notation on the second. This is also consistent with the original Greek translations. Furthermore, the old Testament becomes less of a stretch law and more of a history lesson with the arrival Jesus and the fulfillment of the first two covenants.

Who’s shutting you down brother? Speak your gospel all you want, cool. In your views one widely accepted forbidden thing is forbidden and the other is allowed. I’m well within my rights to point out the clear inconsistency with that. And ״זכר״ means male, not boy. It’s not really even a question or a debate on that. I’d have a lot more respect if you just said “that doesn’t apply to us anymore” rather than “Bible wrong”

Also, let’s see you’re correct about the band on homosexuality and Leviticus. We also don’t keep kosher or not wear mixed fabrics or halt all work on Saturdays. Because again none of those rules apply to Christians because Jesus is the fulfillment of the covenant under which those rules were made.

Also, do you know what else the Bible has rules and regulations for. Slavery and indentured servitude, as well as the keeping of debts and debts being expunged after a seven year cycle, which we also don’t do so. Oh, who could forget taking care of internationals in your country. Which is also laid out in Leviticus and Deuteronomy.

And the thing is you CAN make art of figures in a Sant like or Christlike pose. However, Trump fits into none of those categories, and flip-flops between calling himself Christian and not calling himself Christian and saying he’s going to hell ( words out of his own mouth.) In order to be a saint you HAVE to be Christian & emulate Christ’s life

I’d respect that argument infinitely more than Bible wrong. I just think the rationalization of one being forbidden but the other being actually allowed because of the *technicality* of being a “mistranslation” is still hypocrisy/inconsistency. If you wanted to argue it no longer applies then that’s a whole other ballpark. Leave it up to each denomination to decide whether the New Testament prohibits it, but that’s not what was said here

I am leaving it up to the denominations. This is from my denominational worldview. Also, when did I say this wasn’t allowed? I just said it was heresy not trying to stop anybody from depicting him like this. You can do that. God gave you free will, far be it for me to try to take it from you. You can make your own mistakes.
