We should not call out crime made by black people, By white people, My any minority. Crime is not a race issue. Crime is a societal issue. If you want to call out crime, talk about crime reform. Don’t use crime as a reason to put a minority group down.

It’s a race issue, but not in the way of certain races being inherently criminal. Black people and other minorities overwhelmingly live in impoverished areas compared to white people, and poverty is a proven root of crime. It’s systemic and designed to keep minorities down.

Agreed on the premise, but I’d label it as a societal issue putting down groups of minorities. These issues are awful, we cannot begin to fix the social issue until there’s enough consensus that it is an issue

The first thing we need to do is better help with ex-criminals assimilating back into society. Because you know what’s gonna happen when someone with a felony drug conviction gets out of prison? They’re going to go right back to criminal forms of income because they literally can’t get a job anywhere else, and it pays better than most jobs anyway. unfortunately that usually ends up becoming violent crime after so long.

You can read “Poverty, by America” if you’re truly interested in what drives poverty and its relation to crime. But pretty much. If I dont make enough to pay rent I have increased pressure to steal so I can allocate money to other necessities and not other costs like food. I can go on and on about how most crimes are related to poverty but Yikyak text limit is annoying

I don’t think this issue is simple enough to have a “first” thing to do. I don’t think one thing is enough to topple all the dominoes of systemic oppression. Yes post-prison reform would do good, but why is there a school to prison pipeline for minority groups to begin with? That should be addressed. And why are some minority groups more likely to do crime? Because of poverty. Why are they more impoverished? That’s a whole different can of worms. We need to battle on all fronts of the societal…

Ladder to begin making positive change. I know it’s not ideal to not have one policy to rally for, but it’s not realistic to expect one piece of policy to change society. Our country is a melting pot of past mistakes, If we want our country to be better we can’t just fix one.
