He two years it was really high were during the eras tour and when the tour was over it significantly continued to drop more and more. And there’s not even data from before the eras tour

Ok un popular opinion but what do you want her to do? I think she should only use it for tutoring but if Taylor Swift took a commercial plane it would be a complete nightmare. Crazy fans who trying to meet her and stalkers

And I don’t think people understand how jets work because those short flights are almost for sure for repositioning or maintenance, not personal travel. And one of them was her old jet test flight right before it was sold

I think you can criticize jet use but I also think people would give 5% as much of af if it wasn’t Taylor Swift who people love to hate anyways

She’s a billionaire, she deserves hate

Fair enough but the fact is that people just hate her and she gets more hate for the same things other people get a lot less for, for example LeBron James is also a billionaire

who's the highest?

iirc kim kardashian was highest (by miles flown) in 2025 (and i don't think taylor swift made the top ten last year). currently donald trump is highest by co2 emissions and eric schmidt is highest by miles flown (from celebrityprivatejettracker.com)

I think the main problem is the world thinking we’re stupid and telling us to lower OUR carbon footprint meanwhile mfs like Taylor swift emit 1800x more than the normal person. To that I say don’t hate the person, hate the system that allows this to happen

Ppl are downvoting this dude but he’s kinda got a point. People jut seem to hate on Taylor swift because she’s the most convenient target, meanwhile there are bucketloads of celebs doing the same exact thing. He’s not saying to stop hating Taylor swift, he’s saying to keep that same energy for everybody else doing exactly what she’s doing

You’d have to drive 30 miles every day for 750 years to match Taylor Swift’s yearly emissions btw

Yeah when she was on a world tour, I think you can criticize it but also don’t act like it’s like that every year

Ik it sounds like I’m defending high private jet usage but I think people approach it stupidly w that and the short flight thing I’ve been seeing acting like she’s even in the plane for those flights

I mean, I did calculate the average of roughly 8,000 tons per year compared to the average American, not the roughly 500 tons brought on from the tour. To be fair looking back at it, might’ve done my math a bit wrong lmao so lemme recalculate rq

Just to clarify, in no way am I solely blaming Taylor swift for this, I know there’s plenty of billionaires and corporations doing the same thing to a worse degree and I also understand those short flights were most likely for plane maintainence

Okay so turns out I was pretty wrong, but not in the way I thought I was. It’s actually WORSE. If u drive 30 miles it releases ab 0.012 tons of carbon emissions. Multiply by 365 you get 4.38, the yearly average, divide that into 8,000 and you get 1,826 years, not 750. Ngl im a bit rusty with math in general so if anyone has a different calculation that seems more accurate feel free to share
